Before I found Yoga and Ayurveda, I was a depressed alcoholic, who was tired, anxious and unconscious. My mind controlled me and I followed every thought that appeared. I tended to overthink every single action and word that was spoken to me.
Then, in 2008, I found yoga and it changed my entire life and state of mind.
Here are 5 ways to shift your thoughts, and thereby shifting your reality.
1. To effectively shift your thoughts, first you must identify what is causing you to think in a negative way. Is it a person, a situation, or something else? Once you have identified the trigger, you can begin to work on shifting your thoughts.
2. Once you've identified the trigger, ask yourself questions that you can use to reframe your thinking. For example, if the trigger was a difficult situation, ask yourself "What can I learn from this experience?" or "How can I make the best of this situation?".
3. If you're feeling overwhelmed, take a break from the situation. Take a few deep breaths, step away from the situation, and allow yourself to clear your mind.
4. After you've taken a break, take some time to re-frame your thoughts. Instead of thinking about the negative aspects of a situation, focus on the positive aspects.
5. Take action: Once you've re-framed your thoughts, take action. Find something you can do to help you move forward in a positive way. This could be anything from taking a walk or engaging in a creative activity.
By following these five steps, you can start to shift your thoughts in a positive direction. If you need further guidance, contact me. You got this!
